A: I received the “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave” from an anti modern-day slavery assembly at my school. The assembly was hosted by my English teacher Ms.Shah, who is also the sponsor of the RAMS club (Rams Against Modern-day, Slavery), the RAMS club, and Lt. André Dawson. Lt. Dawson is a former LAPD officer who served 33 years fighting human trafficking and continues to do so with the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives. I, along with several other classmates, were honored to receive Frederick Douglass’s autobiography as recognition of our understanding of modern-day slavery.
